Margret Mead once said “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” I bet little did she know or even think that this would be the case for a virtual world and its citizens as well. One week ago, our beloved game “Yoville” was taken over by Big Viking Games and renamed “YoWorld.” It has just been a week so we cannot expect all our issues to be immediately solved I mean, come on – Rome was not built in a day. However since the migration to BVG’s servers there have been notable differences or should I say improvements.

Firstly, events have been once more enabled so YoWorldians can once more host popular events like Trade Centres, Auctions, Pageants, Debate events, Hide and Seek and so on. This improvement was greeted with merriment and cheer among the YoWorld community.

The free gift issue has also been addressed. Whereas players were able to trade and/or gift the free gift items, BVG has made them untradeable and ungiftable to limit the circulation of these items. This decision was followed by both thanks and complaints. Players who owned said items were relieved that they were able to keep their items and wear them however other players were angry at the decision stating that all free gift items should be removed.

One of the biggest concerns of the citizens was that all of their houses which were decorated after Thanksgiving 2013 were empty after the migration. This was followed by protests and endless complaints however we would like to point out that this is no fault of Big Viking Games. Zynga stopped saving the databases after Thanksgiving which is why when Big Viking Games acquired YoWorld, your houses reverted back to its original state.

Big Viking Games has been working around the clock to patch all bugs and exploits in an effort to make the game better for us. They have made it known that mod users or as they call them “Script kiddies” will be dealt with immediately.

Another positive change was the launch of YoWorld’s temporary forum which is a Facebook group where players are able to post and chat with others. The fantastic thing about this forum is that it was created and is monitored by Greg Thompson himself and other members of BVG which makes it easy for players to interact with the new owners and offer suggestions, launch complaints and discussions.

Overall, the changes to YoWorld have been positive and we look forward to all the upcoming changes as we all know, this team is hard working and always willing to address our concerns. Thank you Big Viking games, for without you a month ago we would not have had a game.
